andy warhol's obsession with mortality took a morbid turn in 1968 when he was almost fatally shot by valerie solanas. compelled by that near death experience, warhol(1923-1987) created several artwork, including his "guns" series, duplicating solanas revolver. utilizing his signature technique of reproducing multile images of an instantly recognizable cultural symbol, the gun appears to be lethal, even though no one is holding it.
i personally like the colors he used. it brings it out.

The crafting of these piece is amazing how they would get that detail in chiseling to the smallest little image. I wonder how long it would take make something like this, or what tools they used to make it. This calender consisted of a 365 day calender cycle. How did they think to create this kinda map to their year and to think how we still use is similarly
